EZEKIELS TEMPLE

Ezekiel 40
2 In the visions of God He took me into the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain; on it toward the south was something like the structure of a city.3 He took me there, and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of bronze. He had a line of flax and a measuring rod in his hand, and he stood in the gateway.

4 And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you; for you were brought here so that I might show them to you. Declare to the house of Israel everything you see.”

Here we have Christ showing Ezekiel the heavenly city, things in the spirit, current realities for them and us. As Christ had spoke of “the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundations of the world”.

The Lord then tells Ezekiel to explain to the house of Israel to be ashamed because of this vision.

Ezekiel 43.10
“Son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern. 11 And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the temple and its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its ordinances, all its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight, so that they may keep its whole design and all its ordinances, and perform them.

That they may be ashamed? I mean we are talking of the blue print for the 3rd temple aren’t we? Didn’t God give that to us so we can make it? So He can come back and be our King?

Paul said in Acts 17. 24 “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything,

I believe the earthly temple and articles were meant to teach us the greater reality of His unchanging eternal kingdom.

When Christ said “the Kingdom of God is at hand” meaning “right here” the Jewish leaders thought they were running the show. Christ did not deny His kingship but just said His kingdom is not of this age, and offered it to them if they would repent, or “be ashamed”

Christ also took Moses up a “high mountain” and showed him this kingdom. The Lord told him when making these things on earth to “Make all things according to the pattern I showed you on the mount”.

So this is the sin for them to be ashamed. They worshiped the articles and not what they represented. As in Christ’s day when He said “destroy this temple and I will rebuild it in three days” they thought He meant their brick buildings.

With Moses they gallivanted thru the desert carrying the ark of the covenant having the mercy seat with the two tablets in it, yet they did not see the one who sat on it. Although this chair appeared empty, it wasn’t. The ark contained the tablets which were the Words of God Himself, the living word, His words which created all things. Oh the irony. The chair was empty yet the box contained the Living word where all things came. The ark seated empty was full of eternity. And today, some are looking for that wooden box? Some are looking for a red heifer? Some have a fixed gaze upon modern Israel? Anticipating a temple? What then sacrifices?

Tell my people their sin that they may be ashamed. Could our leaders be doing today what they did back then?

Christ goes on to say to Ezekiel 43 12 This is the law of the temple: The whole area surrounding the mountaintop is most holy. Behold, this is the law (immutable truth) of the temple.

We understand through Moses that there is the holies and the “most Holy” or “Holy of Holies. That the Levites, after they kept themselves from strong drink and dressed in fine linen, were able to enter the holies, but the Holy of holies had even higher standards indicating that even after they sanctified themselves and cleaned their flesh up as best as possible, there was still a Holy place unreachable, indicating that there was another dimension off limits to the flesh. as we know this was bridged through Christ by His blood and the chief priest did this once a year to point to that. So we can go boldly to the Holiest. Heb 10.19

What “Most Holy” means is “not like this world”, “another dimension”, alternate reality” the true reality. The originator of all things, the fulfillment of all visions and parables.

In John 16.14 speaks of the Holy Spirit will Glorify Christ, the Holy Spirit will take what is Christ’s and explain it to us. So the question is… is the book about the Jewish people and the renewal of their kingdom? or is it about the revelation of Christ?

Icor 9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”[a]

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

Fortunate for us we have access by faith in Christ which enters behind the veil into this reality. Let us be careful not to mix the unholy with the Holy.
