In our current time the term blasphemy is usually associated with one who uses god to curse. This may show the condition of the heart but there are other, more severe types of blasphemy.
Jesus Christ was accused of blasphemy by the Jews for calling himself the son of God, and making himself equal with God. However if anybody could do this it was him.
Blasphemy simply put is to take the holy, invisible things of God and ascribe to them carnal value, because it is the carnal mind that is enmity against God. God who says, “where is the house that you will build me? For the heavens of Heavens cannot contain Me.” That “as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts, says the Lord”. His things are far different from our things too.
It is the things of creation that were given to us to help explain in part who God is and what God is about, in his assorted elements and aspects. So when we take the things that are meant to explain the things already in existence Eternal in the heavens, being the old and new Covenant descriptives original, and then to associate them to be physically actualized for carnal fascinations, this is blasphemy.
It is wrong to associate God with the creation of time and matter. A created thing God is not. However, everything created has an eternal corolation we are to awaken to through a series of revelations, not just 1st and 2nd comings.
The Creator does not become the created or God would become something He wasn’t before.
He would have to change, but He said “I am the Lord and I change not” so we have to. And of the Son scripture says that “Christ is the same yesterday today and forever.” Something creation is not. It wasn’t around yet. He became flesh temporarily for our transfiguration.
We need to understand that when man fell, he fell in the spirit of his mind. And when he fell he took all the concepts of God down with him. Instead of rising to the challenge to become more and more like God. Now fallen man takes the concepts of God, and thinks of God to be experienced on earth, an event to be experienced in time and matter like what is called “a second coming” a phrase that is not found once in scripture. “God is spirit and truth and seeketh such”, a created thing God is not. Those who hold the view that physical things are components of God, if they aren’t new in the faith, they are idolatrous, and commit spiritual adultery. Gods make up is not of these things. He is not of this age or of the world.
You see, God is the reality before He created anything called “Spirit and Truth”. We are in the alternate reality, the place of contrasts. Because when God spoke, He created something other than Himself, a secondary reality for us to choose between contrasts. Our journey is to adopt and become exact copies of His attributes. To put on Christ one revelation at a time to arrive there. To exercise our choosing to be godly, or be the recipients of the contrasts of God. It is the elements associated with time we are suppose to tranfigure from.
Blasphemy is to take the invisible concepts of God and assign to them physical importance. To ground out the heavenly. This becomes the contrast. When it matures it becomes the blasphemy of all blasphemies. Like the “Abomination of desolation”. This was seen with the culmination of the age of the Jews when Christ said of Jerusalem, not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be cast down.
What the angel told Daniel about the end times was “when you see the power of the Holy people trotted underfoot all these things shall be fulfilled”. That happened. The Jewish culture was destroyed for their continual rejection of things eternal. God sent His Son as His last effort.
It was the culmination of all the Heavenly concepts of God made physically on planet Earth with the expectation of these things being deified that brought their demise. Having a physical Kingdom and the physical King borrowing descriptions from scripture to authenticate itself. It is the grand impersonator, and the ultimate counterfeit, and another Christ called the anti-christ. The antithesis. The Creator is seeing as being a created. This was the mindset of the scribes in Pharisees who asked Christ when his kingdom would come, but he answered them my kingdom come not with observation. That happened at the end of the days of the Jews, And will happen in a similar way again at the end of the Gentiles. Both Abominations are equally guilty because even as Christ said to that group, you are not entering the kingdom of God nor are you allowing those who are trying to do so. Showing that his kingdom is of a Bic ubiquitous spiritual nature.
Christ said “when you see the abomination of desolation spoken by Daniel the Prophet let him who read understand”. We hope you are following us. And Paul talks about this person”The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, why? Because they are the replicants, the imposter and the counterfeits. 2 Thes 2.10 with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved”.
They refused the Heavenly calling. You see Satan assembles a carnal Kingdom for those who reject the kingdom of the Holy Spirit, the kingdom of God at hand, and he uses the old implements of faith. “With all lying signs, if possible to deceive the elect”. Such are we who know “those who say they are Jews and are not, but from the synagogue of Satan”, of those who reinvent that which is fulfilled in Christ.
What makes the abomination of desolation is a collection of heavenly counterfeits presented on earth to those who rejected the invisible counterpart, for them to be damned. Especially the re-presentation of the old Jewish kingdom. When it is completed, there will be one there claiming to be the Christ. This will be the mark of the final wrath of God.
They collect all the things of God in a typical fashion that the Jews of old had done and recieve the same reward. They were given to the Jews for transformation purposes only and they rejected that. According to Paul, it was “the resurrected life they strove night and day hoping to attain” while they were in a physical body. In other words they were to learn with physical Earthly things, the Heavenly reality. But this did not work, for even the scripture says of the old way “there is none righteous, no not one”, and so the old covenant was fulfilled by Christ yhen expired as fruitless.
Christ having expired all the law and the prophets, to come along again today and try to re-establish the old covenant concepts on earth, is an abomination. And because God sent his son as the sacrifice to end all sacrifices, the feast to end all feast, then to have these people regather and re-collect to rebuild those things and restart the sacrifices and feasts, spits in the face of the New Covenant sacrifice of our High Priest who has entered into the temple not built by man, eternal in the heavens, having aquired for us eternal redemption to establish the New Covenant now in effect, is a huge spiritual blunder.
The old has expired and a third one is not in the making. God is done with this. Take the New Way or leave it. The old wine is not better. All there is left for these is a feaful expectation of judgment for those who don’t get this.
To hold on to the old is the greatest blasphemy of all. With all lying signs and wonders. So the final element of the things of the kingdom of God is the king himself. Which is the man of sin who proclaims this thing is the poor fellow that has an x mark on his back that says hit hardest here. “Let them who read, understand, for them there will be great judgment such has never been seen”. The days of grace for salvation will be over.
Repent and believe the gospel. The Kingdom of God is at hand still even now. But then the door will be closed.
