NKJV Genesis 15.1 The Lord came to Abraham saying “I am your Shield, your exceedingly great reward.” Throughout history Abraham is referred to as the father of faith. Abraham passes on to us the Promises given to him by the Lord.
When God gave promise to Abraham saying, “I am your Shield your exceedingly great reward,” those who believe in like manner have this promise as well.
What makes His Shield exceedingly great is that it is far superior to all the shields of this world. If God made a shield, or a force field, what could get past Him as though you could sneak up behind Him? What could penetrate or void His terms and conditions? What could negate God’s obligation to perform His word over and above Him? As if there is something or someone more powerful than God? Our faith is our only obstacle to implementing His words. You doubt His Word and seek protection elsewhere.
The term “Shield” was used because that was the common vernacular of the day. When a soldier went out to battle, it was his Shield that would protect him and ward off all the fiery darts. Even as Paul said in Ephesians 6. 16 to “put on the shield of Faith which is able to ward off all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Other Shields are not able to do this. This is what Paul was referring to. The shield of faith. This is what Abraham received when God explained it to him.
This Shield of faith is an invisible force field, able to throw off all the fiery darts of the wicked. It is able to also put us outside of harm’s reach of many other things. It is equal to our participation in our personal sanctification. Which is? To abstain and purify ourselves from the counterfiet provisions of today.
When Christ prayed to the Father in John 17.16 to keep His people from evil, the Father answered that prayer then because He always heard the Only Begotten. John 11.42
Christ defined those who were recipients of this sanctification saying, “Father these whom you have given Me are not of this world just as I am not of this world.” (John 17.14) We are distinguished from those of this world because we are cloaked with Gods word, which is eternally greater than the protectors and providers the world has. All of Gods promises are summed up in this one saying, “I will never leave you or forsake you. (Hebrews 11.42) What better protection can you get? God wants us to have full assurance and reliance in Him and on Him. He doesn’t need any help. What ever we face, God has it covered. He has it covered for the whole world. 1 John 2.1
Our Shield is our dependency in God to make good on His Word of shielding and protecting us from the evils of this world and fulfilling His word, which He does. God is faithful to His faithful to the uttermost. We are those “who follow the lamb where ever He goes”. (Revelation 14.4)
What does this all mean? Simply this, if you put on the force fields and shields of this age to provide and protect yourself, instead of Gods, you are committing spiritual adultery.
Spiritual adultery sets you outside of the safety net of God’s promises and His Shield of faith. Sounds crazy, but the choice is yours.You can be in God’s good hands, or in the not so good hands of a counterfeit coverage provider.
Like Christ spoke to the church of Laodicea, Revelation 3.17 “Because you say, ‘I am rich, I have become wealthy, and I have need of nothing (because you cover yourself with worldly policies) But you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked’. You have put yourself outside of the protection agencies of God.
So it is with many professing faith in God today. They don’t have much to offer that differentiates themselves from the world or other religions. Having faith in Christ is not a religion it’s a new creation. So our wares and our solutions are different. As the heavens are higher than the earth so God’s ways are higher than man’s ways. We the elect are in the world but not of the world so our association is not as such. The things God freely gives us do not have maintenance fees or monthly payments.
Warning! If you are trusting in shields and providers other than those from God as outlined in His scripture, agreeing with His terms and His conditions defined in his Covenant of His coverage paid for with the blood of Christ, the very thing that you think you are shielded from is the very thing that you are exposing yourself to. The god of this age is out to sift you as wheat, and God gave him permission to do so when you seek safety elsewhere.
When one rejects God’s provisions as outlined in scripture, you don’t get the next best thing. You get the exact opposite. Today we have more insurance commercials, companies, agencies, policies, coverage, providers and drugs than anytime in human history, yet we have more sicknesses, mental illness, diseases, addictions and deaths.
In the U.S. alone the health care industry accounted for 7% of the economy less then 10 years ago and now it is close to 20% of the GDP. it has turned into a multitrillion-dollar industry.
Where will it be in another 10 years? 30% of America’s GDP? This does not include how much money is spent on insurance policies people wrap themselves in for the illusion of safety and security if other sorts. No wonder you can’t hear God. You don’t need Him. And add to those figures the cost of advertisement for insurance and pharmaceuticals. Who doesn’t hear the constant bombardment of those? These are all promptings for the fear driven mind that says ” but what if”. It is easy to control the masses with “what ifs”. That is what terrorism is designed to do. You give up freedom for security because you want some protection for the “what ifs” in life and “just in case”. These are just counterfeit provisions from the gods of this day meant to distract you from discovering your god-given inheritance.
Remember how Christ commended the widow who gave away her last two mites for a charitable cause? He said “this one truely trusts in God”.
But you look at all the evils in the world and think, God turned His back on us? No! We turned our back on Him. We quit trusting God. He has been extracted, shut out, shunned and turned down from schools, government and public places throughout the land, and are receiving the reward of their choices. They want a Godless society and reap their reward of godlessness, so that’s what you get. Like God said if Israel in the wilderness “a generation in whom their is no faith. I will watch and see what their latter end will be”. Why? Because He was out looking in. They didn’t need God. While they thought God was gone they took all their gold, melted it down and made a golden calf. Sounds like wall street today.
In Numbers 13 We see in the Old Covenant the Israelite’s, under the guidance of Moses, were instructed to send 12 spies into the promised land. Of the 12 who came back, only two gave positive reports. The positive report was that if God said a thing that’s good enough. “If God gave us the land, we are more than able to go in and possess it.” With those words the enemies melt. Inferring that however big an obstacle is, God’s Word is immensely greater. Here Joshua and Caleb were displaying the Shield of Faith. They stood behind the Word of God. That if God spoke a thing, anything, it was just as valid as when God said let there be light, and it was so. God’s word is unstoppable and irrevocable, except by one condition.
You must stand behind the Shield of the things God has said and trust Him. For those who hold onto God’s promises in spite of the obvious physical objections in front of them, these are counted as being faithful and the recipients of the things God has said. God cannot lie.
To merely proclaim a trust and a dependency upon God, and then not believing His Word, or not knowing His scripture or applying in His promises, is fruitless. Or worse yet, knowing God’s promises and not believing in them at face value, is spiritual infidelity and makes you faithless. And of the Jews who did this? God cast them off. They rejected God’s provisions over and over. The term Jew was the name given to the leftover reprobates who were held accountable for the blood of Christ. With their own confession “His blood be upon us and our children” and poof they were gone. God allowed them to be defeated. He sent prophet after prophet and said, “Last I will send My Son.” And He did. That was their final rejection. Case closed.
So, too, for seekers today who go to church. They may read God’s Words and seeing the promises, but not believing in them, or believing that those words were only available to those who they were spoken to, or expecting God’s Word to only become true later at a second coming? This puts them outside of God provisions made available for us today. This was publicly displayed at the cross and paid in full through the death of His Son, by whom He traded our cursing for His blessing, as evident by the crown of thorns, for on Him was laid the inequity of us all. To eternally expire the Old Covenant and to advertise and impliment “The New Covenant” which is now effect as evident of the perfect, one time sacrifice of Christ on the cross to pay for it. As He said then, “it is finished”.
As with any inheritance, it is only in force after a death. The death of the testator happened. The will is in force. The New Covenant is now legal and binding. There is no Third Covenant to sepercede the one already given, so what are you waiting for? The New Covenant Kingdom of God is at hand, with all His coverages, provisions and protections is available for the taking right now for the ones who have faith in His Son.
When Christ said on the cross “Father why have you forsaken me” He took on that sin as well so we wouldn’t have to. The Heavenly Father did not leave Him hanging there to continually pay, but returned Him to His own right hand in Glory and calls us there to Himself through the gospel (John 14.6)
The ills and anguish that you suffer and make you feel alone, are proof that you are outside of the contract of faith. You must abide by His terms and His conditions to have the thing that is promised. To trust in others puts you outside the fold to be ravaged. Don’t blame God for that. You must abide by His Words.
Gods promises are of no effect for many people because it is incumbent upon them to believe and confess the thing that God said. Just as it says in Hebrews 11.1 Now faith is the substance of the things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By this the elders gained repor with God”. And because of Gods invisible substance that’s not humanly assimilated, you must be born again of the Spirit to activate it. It is only available to those who are “in Christ” to those who have put off the Adamic fallen nature of disbelief and fear. Which is us who have the Spirit. We know the things God has freely given to us by His Spirit, that precedes and supersedes the things available from the counterfeit competitors of our day.
Hebrews 11.6 goes on to say that “God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.” Meaning to look for our provisions and speak His word in the face of the challenges we face. By doing this we receive the thing that scripture says contrary to the physical findings. This is faith. This is how someone is found faithful. This is a correct faith in the Living God. To believe and proclaim the things that He said despite the physical facts. As scripture says I believe therefor I speak. And so we do. (2 Corinthians 4.13)
Romans chapter 4.18 says “it is God who gives life to the dead and calls the things that are not as though they are”. Why? Because for the elect they do exist because God said so.
For us the elect, the word has more relevance than any physical obstacle or counterfeit provision.
Romans 8.31 says “If God be for us who could be against us? He who spared not His only son but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him (because of Him) also freely give us all things? And He did. We don’t need to wait and we don’t need the protections from the counterfeits of our day while waiting for God to make good of His word. We with faith are joint Heirs now of the things of God in Christ today because “all the promises from God are yes and amen” and “today is the day of salvation”. Today His saving act is dependable.
There will be no saving act later to impliment another saving or bring something to you that you don’t already have.
Isn’t this the gospel? Romans 10.6 “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ”(that is, to bring Christ up from the dead to save us). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Not an end times saving, but saved every day from here on out.
Christ owns everything. He created all things by His word, and all things are held together by the power of His word. A nuclear war can’t undo that.
There is not one obstacle that we the elect face that cannot be decimated by believing and speaking the word of God. Even as the word concur’s “for if you have faith of a mustard seed, you would say to this mountain “be thou removed to the sea, it shall be done. Nothing will be impossible for you” Matthew 17.20 . And so we do because that is what His word says. Can you believe that? Did you do that? Then you are counted as faithful. “Nothing is impossible for you”. Now “Enter the joy of the Lord you good and faithful servant”.
The fears and boogie man’s of this age do not scare us. Just as when the Jewish leaders sought to kill Christ, He walked through their midst. John 8.59 We walk through the midst and are hidden in plain sight. We need not to deviate. But for those who fear and hide? “He who fears has not been made perfect in love because fear involves torment”. 1 John 4.18 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
So for all the alternate Shields that a man can amass and assemble to preserve his carnal life, it is all done in vain. You reject God’s promise and accept the offers of this world because you either know not, or believe not what God has said.
It is “the whole world that is under the sway of the wicked one” 1 John 5.19 . These are your choices. Gods way, or the devils sway.
Beware of what contracts you sign. Be careful of what services you subscribe to. Scrutinize the verbiage of the apps and contracts to make sure they do not overlap Gods promises and provisions. In doing so you choose one provider to cancel out the other. You give away pieces of your soul one decision at a time. As for me? My covenant is signed in the blood of the one who makes it good, but it is incumbent upon me to believe and appropriate it by faith in the way outlined here.
As for me, God is my cross and my shield. I don’t need the blue ones. I am in the good hands of God and not anothers. God is my prudent Rock, and my K
kaiser permente, meaning Eternal King is God my Savior. Believe it or not. You choose the real or the counterfeits. This is your choice cursing or blessing.
This is what God has to say about this; Deuteronomy 32. 42 ‘Now see that I, even I, am He,
And there is no God besides Me;
I kill and I make alive;
I wound and I heal;
Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.
40 For I raise My hand to heaven,
And say, “As I live forever,
41 If I [i]whet My glittering sword,
And My hand takes hold on judgment,
I will render vengeance to My enemies,
And repay those who hate Me.
And there is no God besides Me;
I kill and I make alive;
I wound and I heal;
Nor is there any who can deliver from My hand.
40 For I raise My hand to heaven,
And say, “As I live forever,
41 If I [i]whet My glittering sword,
And My hand takes hold on judgment,
I will render vengeance to My enemies,
And repay those who hate Me.
There is certain judgment coming on the gods, impersonator and providers of our day. You want to get away from them. We are called to “come out of them My people lest you partake of their sins and receive of their judgments”. Revelation 18.2 This is how you do it.
And from 2 Corinthians 6.17-18
17 Therefore“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and My daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”
It is incumbent upon for you to act upon this, to activate this through repentance and a new reliance on The Almighty God.
“Let Gods Word be true and every man be a liar.” Amen
The kingdom of God is always at hand in this way. Why? Because His promises are eternal. Meaning, without copays, coverage lapses and activation dates. But you must abide by His terms and His conditions and be found “in Christ”. To place your trust in Him.
